Gratitude

My poor girl has still not recovered from her cold yet and is still having fever. Hubby brought her back to see the doctor again and took a blood test for her. The doctor suspects that it may be Kawasaki disease but we will only know the results of the blood test by evening.

Two days ago, my supervisor messaged me one word, "Congrats!", without explaining what he is congratulating me for. In response, I just replied, "Thank you Sir." He must have been congratulating me for waking up in the morning and enjoying one more day in my life.

Yesterday, I was not feeling well and went to see my doctor. The doctor gave me two days' MC to rest. I really felt much better after resting, which means not checking my emails the whole day yesterday.

Today, I am glad to receive a message from my former subordinate, thanking me for encouraging him to take up further studies. He had messaged me just to thank me and inform me that he had completed his diploma. So nice of him to still remember me.

This small gesture is a good reminder to myself that all the work that I've done is worth it.

A different Saturday

What a refreshing change! It has been quite some time since I spent time alone with my son. My daughter is sick and she is at my MIL's home in the morning while my hubby went to work, leaving me and my son alone at home. Now that my boy is sleeping his late morning nap, I finally have some me-time all to myself.

I am glad that I have the freedom to do what I want, including strolling my son all the way to WWP for breakfast this morning and even checking work emails. I even got to meet my former dragonboat acquaintance/ colleague at the foot of my block this morning for the first time and I didn't know that he has been staying in the opposite block in my estate for the past three years!

Hope my daughter gets well soon so that she can play with her little brother!

Showing gratitude for the things around you

I have just completed a free online micro course on motivation. As part of the course, I am taught that showing gratitude will increase one's happiness in life. Although I have kept this blog for a long time now, I have not maintained the discipline to count my blessings.

So, I am going to restart again with this entry.

Today I am thankful that I am still alive. I am glad that my children are healthy and growing up happily.
